Graston Technique is a type of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) technique utilizing specialized stainless-steel instruments to mobilize the skin, myofascia, muscles, and tendons. These instruments “catch” on fibrotic tissue, which immediately identifies areas of restriction and tissue dysfunction. IASTM improves soft tissue function, stimulates blood flow, reduces pain, and facilitates the healing process. In addition, incorporating stretching and strengthening can further help rebuild the soft tissue injury into healthy functioning tissue.
